Description

Coir Net — Natural Coconut Fiber Erosion Control Mesh for Sustainable Land Management

Coir net (coconut fiber erosion control net) is a high-performance, fully natural geotextile product manufactured from 100% coconut coir fiber — one of the most durable natural materials available for civil engineering, environmental management, and ecological restoration applications. Designed for slope stabilisation, erosion prevention, revegetation support, and landscape reinforcement, coir net provides a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to synthetic erosion control fabrics that persist in the environment long after their useful service life.

VinFruits Global exports premium coir net produced by VTP Industrial — a specialist Vietnamese manufacturer with extensive experience supplying coconut fiber geotextiles to infrastructure, landscaping, and environmental management projects worldwide.

How Coir Net Works

Coir net functions by physically anchoring loose soil particles on slopes, embankments, river banks, and disturbed ground surfaces, preventing surface erosion by rainfall impact and surface water runoff. When installed over seeded ground, it creates a protective microclimate that retains moisture, moderates soil temperature, and shields newly germinated plants from wind and rain — dramatically improving revegetation success rates on difficult sites.

As vegetation establishes and root systems develop to provide long-term slope stability, the coir net gradually biodegrades — typically within 2–5 years depending on climate — returning organic matter to the soil and leaving no synthetic residues. This natural degradation cycle perfectly aligns with the revegetation timeline, making coir net the ideal solution for temporary erosion control on vegetated slopes.

Available Mesh Configurations

Our coir net is available in multiple mesh densities: 18×18, 36×36, and 40×40 lines per square metre. Standard roll dimensions are 2 metres wide × 20 metres long, with fiber diameter of 3–5mm. Denser mesh configurations provide greater immediate erosion protection on steep slopes; lighter configurations are appropriate for gentle slopes or sites where rapid vegetation establishment is expected.

Project Applications

Coir net is used in road and highway embankment stabilisation, railway cutting and fill slope protection, river bank and waterway erosion control, mine site rehabilitation, coastal dune stabilisation, landfill cover and capping projects, and landscaping of residential and commercial developments.
