Product details
Everything your QC and R&D teams check before a sample.
Juice pressed from Vietnamese pineapple, concentrated under vacuum to about 60 °Brix, then packed in double PE bags in steel drums and frozen at −18 °C.
In Vietnam, pineapple concentrate is mostly made beside canning lines, from trimmings and juice released during cutting. A plant that also runs a cannery has steadier raw material, so its Brix and cost move less between lots.
Each lot is one grade, cloudy or clarified, frozen. Aseptic packs are possible by agreement, with partner capacity confirmed per order. VinFruits Global sources, specifies and exports; the partner plant's registration and certificates come with the quotation.

| Parameter | Indicative value · basis | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Soluble solids | 60 °Brix (±1) on Vietnamese TDS; 65 °Brix grade listed by one plantRefractometer at 20 °C; 10TCN 417-2000 sets at least 27 % | Sets dilution and what you pay per kg of solids. |
| Acidity | 1.7–4.0 % as citric acid on one Vietnamese TDSTitration, on the COA | Acid sets the Brix/acid ratio your recipe is built on. |
| Brix/acid ratio | 15–35 on one Vietnamese TDSCalculated from the COA | Ratio decides how sweet the diluted juice tastes. |
| Pulp | Cloudy: 4–8 % on one Vietnamese TDS. Clarified: limit agreed in the specificationCentrifuge, % by volume | Pulp gives body; clear drinks need the clarified grade. |
| Reconstitution | 12.8 °Brix (EU, US, Codex)Directive 2001/112/EC Annex V; 21 CFR 146.185; Codex CXS 247-2005 | The US standard also caps acidity and sets a minimum Brix/acid ratio. |
| Microbiology | Plate count, yeasts and moulds: limits agreed in the specificationLot laboratory report | Spoilage in concentrate usually comes from acid-tolerant yeasts. |
| Residues | Ethephon and the destination panel on the lot reportAccredited laboratory | Ethephon is used on pineapple to time flowering. |
| Storage and shelf life | −18 °C or colder, minimum 24 monthsVietnamese producer TDS; reefer temperature record | Warm storage darkens colour and flattens aroma. |
| HS code | 2009.49 (pineapple juice above 20 °Brix)2009.41 covers Brix 20 or below | At 60 °Brix the code is 2009.49, not 2009.41. |

Cloudy when the drink should look and taste like pressed pineapple. Clarified when it must stay clear, as in carbonated drinks and clear blends.

Why the source plant matters: concentrate made from a cannery's juice stream costs less and varies less than juice pressed from whole fruit.

- Concentrate blended with imported juice sold as Vietnamese origin
- A 2009.41 declaration for concentrate above 20 °Brix
Market access
EU and UK
Juice made from it must reach at least 12.8 °Brix and be sold as juice "from concentrate" (Directive 2001/112/EC). EVFTA preference needs Vietnamese fruit, so the plant confirms in writing that no imported concentrate is blended.
United States
Pineapple juice from concentrate must reach 12.8 °Brix with acidity no higher than 1.35 g citric acid per 100 mL (21 CFR 146.185). The plant runs a juice HACCP plan under 21 CFR 120.
China and Japan
China: the plant registers with GACC under Decree 280; juice is not among the 17 categories that need an official recommendation. Japan: your importer files an import notification under Food Sanitation Act Article 27.

Pineapple in other formats
Before you order
What volume do I need for a first pineapple concentrate order?
Most buyers start with trial drums of one grade once the sample works in their recipe. Regular orders move in a 20-ft or 40-ft reefer container; the drum count follows the pallet plan and is stated in the quotation.
Cloudy or clarified: which grade fits my product?
Choose cloudy for nectars, juice blends and dairy, where body and an opaque yellow look are wanted. Choose clarified for carbonated drinks, clear blends and syrups. If you are unsure, ask for both samples and test them in your base.
Can I claim EVFTA preference on pineapple concentrate?
Yes, if the fruit is Vietnamese. Vietnam also imports pineapple concentrate, which would not originate here if blended in. The plant confirms in writing that the lot comes from Vietnamese fruit before a preferential certificate is issued.
What if the lot arrives outside the specification?
The contract names the test method, sampling point and settlement basis before shipment. Deviations are handled against that clause, the lot COA and the temperature record, not by negotiation after arrival.
